Claudia came to Sound Vision in 2020 after graduating with a Journalism degree in 2019, finding herself ‘stuck’ in a hospitality career path and wanting a change. With low confidence and difficult personal circumstances, she felt lost without direction as her peers found their footing in long-term careers in their early 20s.
Within six months, Claudia was employed by the charity, working on its multimedia content output and capturing stories as podcasts, long-form video, and articles. She also produced and presented two radio shows on Somer Valley FM, focusing on the local music scene, following studio training through the Pathway to Employment scheme.
In the years that followed, Claudia worked for Tindle Newspapers and South Wales Police before returning to Sound Vision to use her lived experience and multimedia skills to empower young people with a voice.
Despite her media career spanning local news, charity, and the public sector, Claudia faced a familiar battle at the Audio Academy Festival: imposter syndrome. And, knowing her lifelong dream of working in radio, questioned whether she really belonged.
